Barbara Lockhart, Ed.D.

BARBARA LOCKHART, ED.D. is a professor of Exercise Sciences and specializes in philosophy, bioethics and the science of wellness. After competing in the Olympics for the USA in long track speed skating, Dr. Lockhart embarked on a career of advancing knowledge in how to apply principles of successful competition to living healthier and happier lives. She practices what she teaches and shares her expertise through writing and leadership. President of both The National Association of Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education and Dance (AAHPERD) now SHAPE, she has recently published CardioWaves: Interval Training for MindBody Wellness. Professor Lockhart teaches the Science of Wellness, an Exercise Sciences course that also qualifies for general education credit.

Ron Hager, Ph.D.

RON HAGER, PH.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Exercise Sciences at Brigham Young University. Ron’s research and teaching interests include Lifestyle and Chronic Disease Prevention, Functional Fitness and Chronic Pain, and Sport Skill Instruction for Lifetime Physical Activity. Ron is active in mentoring student research and regularly presents and publishes the findings with his undergraduate and graduate students. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine.
