Perceivant Launches New Student Risk Assessment Dashboard to Better Identify At-Risk Students
June 11, 2019
Perceivant, an education technology company that replaces traditional textbooks with cost-effective and interactive digital courseware, today announces the launch of a world-class Student Risk Assessment dashboard that provides higher education instructors with an easier way to identify and support at-risk students.
The new Student Risk Assessment dashboard leverages powerful analytics derived from course data to identify students who are at the highest risk for getting a DFWI (D, Fail, Withdraw, Incomplete). Based on the data, the dashboard visually displays at-risk students who need support allowing instructors to intervene at higher impact earlier in the semester and before a course’s add/drop date.
Within the dashboard, instructors are able to view performance history for each student including the level of engagement in the Perceivant course, which includes completing assignments, reading the digital textbook and engaging with course materials. Data for each student is updated in real-time to ensure accurate analysis.
Furthermore, the dashboard boasts an extremely intuitive interface for easy navigation throughout the platform. Instructors are able to filter by course section and message at-risk students with ease. It also allows instructors to receive a visual overview of overall student performance, average grades for each course, the percentage of assignment completed, and more.
“Students who are failing courses and missing classes at midterm are clearly in academic trouble. But by the time an instructor reviews grades, especially in general curriculum courses with large class sizes, it’s often too late for the instructor to offer support,” said Brian Rowe, CEO and founder of Perceivant. “Our new feature is one of the greatest missing pieces in higher education. It has the ability to not only identify but intervene at greater impact to ensure the success of each and every student, no matter the class size.”
Perceivant’s digital coursework is specifically designed to build student engagement as well as improve student success. This past year, Perceivant positively impacted more than tens of thousands of students nationwide with its technology. It reported nearly 90 percent in student engagement while reducing drop out and fail rates across its university partners, such as Ohio State University and Kennesaw State University.
Most recently, Perceivant finalized a funding round, bringing its total funding to $3.75 million. The funding round will be utilized to bring Perceivant’s competitive, low-cost digital courseware to more colleges nationwide, with the goal to bring on more than 100 new partners in the next 2 years.
The new Student Risk Assessment dashboard is now available for all Perceivant digital courseware, benefiting both instructors and students nationwide. All Perceivant courses are available for adoption for the upcoming academic year. Each course follows a low-cost, high-efficacy pricing model that is customized based on the needs of each university.
